HELP HELP Fraud alert craigslist West Bend WI (2024)

I responded to a craigslist add for some brunswick cues and got taken to the cleaners. Here is the link to the add.

I called the number listed and left a message a lady by the name of Sherri Chandler called me back and we discussed the cues and agreed on payment and cost for shipping. She sounded legit and also has several other adds on craigslist for other items she is selling. So I got a money order and sent it to her. She emails me and said she got payment and was shipping the cues out the next day. 3-4 days go by no cues. I email here again and she responds with an excuse of how she was just getting over an illness and that she would have here husband Tim ship them. 3-4 days go by now no answer of the phone and no response to my emails. Anybody in the West Bend WI area that can help me out. Here is all the info on this lady that I have as follows below.

I only spent $70.00 but I sure would like my cues or my money back. Any help on how I can recover this would greatly be appreciated.

I think they are legit. Their phone numbers and address match public records for each of them. My suggestion is to call Daryl Albritton, who lives a few doors away at 4330 Aarons Plance (262) 338-3360 - explain that you're concerned about them and see if he can ask them if they are OK and if they might need help sending your cues. Also, Amanda Mayne at 262-335-1760 who lives one more door down may be willing to help.

I'm serious. You may learn they are out of town or in the hospital - in a small community like this I bet everyone knows who is doing what all the time. One time I called a guys dad to track down a cue. It worked.

Ps. I think I know the type. Your package will just show up and they know you got it when you stop calling.

I can't imagine that you would get taken to "the cleaners" over $70 bucks. I've made many craigslist purchases for cues and other goods amounting to several thousand with no problems. If the address checks out, I think you'll get the cues.
