Sonoma State University (SSU, Sonoma State, or Sonoma) is a public university in Sonoma County, California, that is one of the smallest members of the California State University (CSU) system.

It was inaugurated in 1912 as Samar Trade School during the incumbency of Governor Vicente Jazmines, serving as the laboratory shop of Samar Provincial High School. It was later converted into an independent secondary trade school. It had it first graduation exercise in 1932.

The law covers students enrolled in State and Local universities/colleges in Bachelors and Certificate programs. Under the Law students in accredited State and Local universities/colleges will not pay any tuition fees or misc fee.
