How to Kill All Hacketts in The Quarry - The Quarry Guide - IGN (2024)

There are 6 members of the Hackett family that you can kill while playing The Quarry. Doing so will give you a unique ending and also unlock the trophy Family Matters. In this guide, we’ll explain to you how to kill Constance, Travis, Bobby, Jedediah, Chris, and Caleb.

There’s actually a seventh Hackett, Kaylee, but she’ll be automatically killed by Laura in Chapter 5 no matter what you do.

How to Kill Constance - Chapter 9

In Chapter 9, After interacting with Nick’s cage (and completing or skipping Jacob’s puzzle if he’s alive), Laura and Ryan will get inside a room with Jed, Constance, Bobby, and Travis.

Constance will confront Laura for killing Kaylee, and she will try to take Laura’s shotgun from her. A QTE will take place, and if you succeed in it, Laura will shoot Constance, blowing her face away.

How to Kill Jedediah - Chapter 9

A few moments after the previous scene in Chapter 9, Laura will encounter the old man in another room. Jed will actually shoot Laura, but he won’t kill her because he doesn’t have silver bullets.

However, he will try to stab you multiple times. Complete the QTEs to avoid this, and Laura will knock the old man down. Then, you’ll have to choose between attacking him or leaving the room. Choose the first option and Laura will start choking Jedediah. Press the button on screen multiple times and the old man will die.

How to Kill Bobby - Chapter 9

After Constance’s death, Bobby will stab Ryan on his side and let the knife there. When having the option to remove or leave the knife, it’s important that you don’t remove it. Later in the chapter, Ryan will be trapped by Bobby, and you’ll be able to stab him with the same knife. This action won’t kill the hunter, but it's part of the preparation.

Some scenes later, Ryan and Laura will find Chris Hackett, transformed into a werewolf and chained to a structure. After the beast removes its chains, the floor below the three characters will break. Everyone will fall down to another room, where Bobby and Travis will come by.

You don’t have to do anything else here but watch. Chris will first attack Bobby, who will be too weak to repel the attack due to the knife wound.

How to Kill Chris - Chapter 9

Right after Bobby’s death, Ryan will pick up a shotgun from the floor. Here you’ll have the chance to shoot Chris, killing him at once, and lift Laura’s curse.

How to Kill Travis - Chapter 9 or Chapter 10

There are two ways in which you can kill Travis when you have already killed Chris. They will depend on how you treated him while playing as Laura in Chapter 7 – if you were rude and shot him at the end, he won’t trust you.

If Travis doesn’t trust Laura, after she comes back to normal, he’ll stab her multiple times using a shard of glass. As Ryan, you’ll have the chance to be aggressive to Travis, and a QTE in which he tries to take your shotgun will take place. Complete it correctly and Ryan will shoot Travis in the face.

If you don't shoot Chris while controlling Ryan, Laura and Travis will kill each other and you'll get the Mutually Assured trophy.

The second option will be available if there’s trust between Travis and Laura, which will avoid the outcome above and make them work together. They will look for Silas, the original werewolf. When they find it in Chapter 10, Laura has the chance to don’t shoot it. After not moving, Travis will get angry at Laura and try to take her shotgun. You have to fail in the next QTE and she’ll end up killing Travis by accident.

How to Kill Caleb - Chapter 10

The last kill in this guide requires some preparation and quite a few steps. In Chapter 9, while controlling Abigail (whether she’s with Emma or not), you’ll explore the basem*nt where Max was attacked at the beginning of the game. Here, you need to find some silver shells – interact with the fuse box and she’ll automatically pick them up from the floor.

Progressing through the end of Chapter 10, you’ll play as Kaitlyn (Dylan will be by your side if he’s still alive). Here you’ll face Caleb, the last Hackett alive, in his werewolf form.

While keeping Kaitlyn alive throughout the scene, there will be a moment where Abi will try to give Kaitlyn the special shells under a door. Kaitlyn will hear a sound, and you’ll have the option to investigate. Select it and our protagonist will load her gun with this new ammo. Then, Caleb will come near you. Shoot him and all the Hackett family members will be dead.

If Kaitlyn is the only counselor left and you kill Caleb, you'll unlock a trophy.
