Whilst it may appear relatively straightforward on the surface, Sifu holds a number of secrets. First and foremost, there are a number of unmarked collectibles that unlock a hidden true ending. The way to attain these is to spare every boss in the game; something that many players will have no idea you could do. The reason for this is that you have to go out of your way to extend the boss fights for the option to appear.
What Are the Talismans And How Do You Spare Bosses?
There are five Talismans in Sifu, each representing a different element: water, earth, metal, fire, and wood. Each is granted for the 5 bosses you'll encounter at the end of each level. The strategy to acquire them is as follows:
For every boss in the game: Fajar, Sean, Kuroki, Jinfeng, and Yang, complete the first phase of their fight as normal, performing a takedown once their structure is broken. Here is where your strategy shifts. During the second phase of each boss fight, play more defensively. Parry as much as possible to impact your opponent’s Structure without dealing damage, and only strike when necessary (or if the boss has enough health to survive the blows you’re intending to deal). Once their Structure breaks and you’re presented with the option of a takedown, ignore it. Let them recover, and then repeat the process to break their structure a second time. Upon doing so, an option will appear (in the exact fashion dialogue options are presented) to ‘Spare’ your opponent, causing an alternative cutscene to play for each enemy, where you don’t deal a killing blow.

Once you reach the building that Yang resides in at The Sanctuary, a dialogue option will open (a yellow question mark) as it usually does, but this time the four blank canvases on the walls will come to life, representing the four talismans you’ve acquired from the first four levels.
Facing Yang, repeat the same process as above. The first phase is normal, then during the second phase, break his Structure once, ignore the takedown prompt, break his Structure again, and spare him with the dialogue option. This will trigger a unique cutscene and third phase fight that acts as the true ending to Sifu. To find out what that is, check out our Secret Ending page of the Walkthrough.
