Howard Stern’s beloved father Ben Stern recently died at the age of 99.
The SiriusXM radio host, 68, revealed the sad news in an interview with Hamptons local outletDan’s Papers, but did not provide any details about his dad’s death.
“I lost my father recently, he was 99 years old,” Stern said, before announcing he’s working on a special project in honor of his late father.
Stern revealed the project is sure to get his creative juices flowing.
In fact, he’s putting that skill to good use as he unveiled plans to paint barns with a tie to his dad.
“Next up: Corwith Barns,” he said of his upcoming project. “I’ve done a bunch of smaller paintings of the barns but this one is a larger size.”
He continued, “The barns are no longer there but I photographed them many times, and I’m doing a big painting that hopefully captures every broken board on that fading structure.”
“Not sure how old those barns were, but I feel like painting the barns is honoring him and all those growing older and then gone,” Stern added.
Stern often spoke about his parents, including his mom Ray Stern.
In his 2019 book, “Howard Stern Comes Again,” he lovingly said his mother was one of his favorite guests on his show.
Although Mr. Stern had no education and no trade, he had “ten fingers,” he remarked, as well as the will “to go forward.” He worked as a carpenter before opening his chain of laundromats. Only when his first child was born, Mr. Stern said, did he begin to free himself from the past.
Quivers briefly left the show towards the end of her time at WWDC. In 1982, Stern signed a contract to work at WNBC, and Quivers did not realize WNBC initially refused to hire her. Quivers returned to the show at WNBC a month after Stern began, having convinced WNBC management to hire Robin after all.
After his most recent five-year contract ended in 2020, he negotiated a yearly salary and perks worth $120 million per year. That works out to more than $330,000 per show, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
The estimate average salary for Howard Stern employees is around $108,697 per year, or the hourly rate of Howard Stern rate is $52. The highest earners in the top 75th percentile are paid over $122,658.
Tangent. Trump also claimed on Saturday that Stern “lost his friends and MUCH of his audience” and that “nobody cares about him any longer.” Stern's syndicated radio show, however, is estimated to maintain a steady audience of roughly 10 million listeners.
Death. On September 20, 2014, Lynch was admitted to a hospital because of heart problems. After arriving, Lynch's liver and kidneys began to shut down and he died. On September 21, Lynch's longtime friend and manager Johnny Fratto became the first to report his death.
At the 2019 Christmas party, Scott's new girlfriend attempted to record some of Stern's remarks, leading to a confrontation with Marci Turk. Scott was subsequently let go a few weeks later, marking the end of his 33-year career with Stern.
