Extremely Gory Horror-Survival Game
The evil within has got to be one of the most scary games ever. It is very gruesome and violent with very disturbing and dark scenes. The monsters can also be very disturbing, but the most disturbing monster is probably this weird spider lady that bursts from the ground and starts screaming. The first villain is a chainsaw-wielding killer also known as the sad*st who is seen butchering dead people. Leave this one to the teens.

Survival-horror for gamers with strong stomachs and persistence
It has everything a horror fans crave; a nightmarish atmosphere, grueling set pieces, stomach-churning gore, scarce resources, twisted visuals, and above all, genuine scares. The visual style is suitably grimy. The story and characters aren't bad, but they aren't outstanding either. Its biggest flaw is the difficulty spikes. The game is hard, but for the most part that is good thing. But some mechanics actually break immersion and made me wanna snap my controller in half. The protagonist Sebastian, who is a cop, can't run 4 meters before stopping to take a break (even when a monster is right behind him). Another example is that Sebastian will set off bombs, but a 300 pound butcher holding a chainsaw running at you won't. Aside from those moments, this is a very fun game for older teens and adults who can handle gore and like to get scared.

Best horror game since RE4
Great and challenging game, there are a lot of creepy enemies, it is gory, but IMO it is good for teens who are 15 and up

NOT FOR KIDS
I almost threw up during the first mission, and blood usually doesn't bother me.

Just beat the game so listen to my review
Okay I just beat this game and I have to say it really is a great game. I have strict parents when it comes to Mature games and this game is on the verge of being approved by my parents. Let start with the Language in then game. I would say a 3/5 on the language. There are F words but not many. There are roughly 18 chapter to this game and there was about an F word every other chapter so about less than 10 throughout the whole game. Some in cutscenes which can be skipped and some during gameplay. There are about the same amount as S words maybe a little less actually. The violence can get gory at times so yeah a 5/5 on violence but remember it all depends on maturity. If you’re child is not a sociopath and knows right from wrong they’re gonna be alright I promise. When fighting bosses they can grab you and end your life in gruesome ways such as driving the sharp end of a giant hammer through your face or slamming their hands on your head until it explodes it can get a little intense not gonna sugar coat it. Sex would be a 0/0 there’s none. Frightening and intense scenes would be around a 4/5 this game has some jump scares and depending on your child’s age may give them trouble sleeping if they’re up late playing this game it is a little creepy and the creatures are really grotesque looking but your kids will get over it. Ease of gameplay would be a 2/5 meaning this game is not the easiest to beat. I would suggest starting out on easy until you get used to it then change to normal as it is a survival game and the harder the difficulty the less amount of ammunition for you’re weapons you’ll be able to gather and more damage by enemies will be taken and enemies are a lot stronger. So overall I would say a mature 14 year old and above will be fine. Also my username is my PS4 gamer tag add me

Not the worst game in the world
I personally think that people are over exaggerating when they rate this game it's funny how some people think that if there kids play vilolent games that they will end up being vilolent themselves sorry to say that your wrong in my opinion because I'm sure they already know being violent is wrong and can get them in to trouble it really depends on what the parent wants for there kids gore in this game is everywhere if you don't like gore don't play it simple and if you don't mind go ahead it's your choice really ok sly enough no harsh profanity only few harsh words that are impossible to hear correctly this game was amazing and plz give it another chance

Tough, violent yet fun to play!
The Evil Within is without doubt one of the most violent games due to scenes containing pieces of human flesh, pools of blood and monsters chopping human! This makes it strictly for gamers 18 and above! Not just the violence, but the tough gameplay makes it unsuitable for younger gamers!
