Which seat is best in the Boeing 787-9? ›

I'd recommend the last row of the cabin, row 22, and seats A or L for the window. Okay, moving into Economy Plus, I would advise against sitting in a bulkhead row. That's gonna be row 30, A through L. or row 44, D, E, and F.

This is the seat map for the 246-seat B787-9. There are 40 Business Class, 14 Premium Economy, and 192 Economy Class seats. Seat rows are numbered from 1 to 42. Emergency exits are located on both sides at the front of the cabin, both sides behind row 8, both sides in front of row 28, and both sides at row 42.

Vistara's best seats in business class on their Dreamliner fleet are A and K seats in Rows 2, 4, 6, and 8 for window lovers and solo passengers. In premium economy, the best seats are the pairs of seats along the windows for a more premium feel and better privacy.

3A & K: These are the official C-W-S recommended seats. They have a little extra room, and direct aisle access, as well as good window views. 6A & J: These are recommended, as they are the longest, and offer the greatest legroom, as well as being ideally positioned for getting off the aircraft.

Economy Plus seats are the same as economy (17 inches/44cm wide with a tiny three inch/8cm recline) but there's a noticeable extra six inches (15cm) of space between the rows. I'm a fan of the minimal seat recline - I'd rather keep the space in front of me than wish my seat went further back.

Exit rows, aisle or window seats, and anywhere close to the front are typically considered the best seats on a plane. For a brief business trip, you might prefer an aisle seat towards the front of the plane, facilitating a swift exit upon arrival.
