Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Communicating with colleagues, patients, and other care providers on the individual’s plan of care. The product addresses keeping track of previous and upcoming appointments, vaccinations (past and future), previous lab test results, and even preventative care options that the individual qualifies for, and the option for email-like communications between medical staff and the individual being treated.
Pros and Cons
Email-like correspondence.
Appointment tracking.
Easy to read lab results.
Slow communication form for private messaging, could add a live chat feature option.
Better organization to have my chart of multiple companies flow seamlessly on the patient/individual side. A lot of times they have to create multiple accounts, one person provider.
Being able to use the app outside of the US allows more access and freedom-range for those that travel or work internationally.
Likelihood to Recommend
While not perfect, it is one of the easier-to-use electronic health record systems that I have used thus far.

As a company, we use Epic MyChart to inform patients of test results, scheduled appointments, and general health overviews. This has ensured that our customers are more effectively communicated with and feel that with the app, they are a touch away from managing their own health. This has reduced staff time in dealing with telephone calls or emails to respond to customer queries regarding their test results.
Pros and Cons
Communicates effectively with patients
Excellent interface
Notifies appointments
Saves staff time
Can be complicated for some users, so does require some explanation
Is only as good as the team that completes the information
Likelihood to Recommend
Before using Epic MyChart as a company we would contact our customers to inform them of results or appointments. With Epic My Chart, this has saved valuable resources as customers can now access their results on the app interface. This is very smooth and effective. We can now send direct marketing to them and generally keep them well informed.

This is used for medical information results, appointment scheduling, etc. It simplifies communication that usually takes too long over the phone, and instead is accomplished whenever you need it easily, web or mobile app. It has been used for direct messaging (although the interface is a bit dated for that), appointment reviews, and finally result in links.
Pros and Cons
Slick mobile app
Mobile app supports multiple profiles
Great UI that is pleasant and inviting
Actual data when displayed is a bit unpolished
Didn't find easy integration to device calendar and profiles
Dark mode would have been nice
Likelihood to Recommend
Sometimes it is mandatory by some providers to receive results using MyChart - in that case, you have no choice. Good thing the product is solid and shows a development team that cares about it; this shows in the UI / UX. For appointment responses, it does its job well. Direct messaging with the staff works well too, but you need to know who to message.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We primarily use Epic MyChart to store, analyze, and manage patient data and care. We also use it to communicate with patients and facilitate care (e.g. virtual visits, MyChart messages), and collect billing payments. Because many of our patients also are seen at other healthcare organizations, it's helpful to have a standard system like MyChart that they are already familiar using.
Pros and Cons
Collecting payments for bills
Providing patient data for analysis
Continuous updates of their UI
Integrating different tools like virtual visits, SmartExam
Better user experience - it's most helpful for those that are digitally savvy. Patients that struggle with tech have a hard time with things like Pre-Checkin.
Not customizable. Very hard to customize the solution to our organization's needs while ensuring upgrades are still possible.
Not able to use facial recognition to log in as a patient/user.
Likelihood to Recommend
MyChart is well suited for large organizations where patients often receive care in a few places. It coordinates the information across organizations well, and patients can learn how to use the UI and be comfortable with it even if they're receiving care at a different clinic. It is less appropriate for clinics or healthcare organizations where many customizations are required, such as services provided. It also requires a lot of training and re-training of staff when updates are rolled out.

It has made it really easy to see my medical information. Such as test results and scheduled visits. I am also able to fill out lots of paperwork and HIPPA notices quickly
Pros and Cons
Review prior visits
Allows me to look at test results
Lets me chat with my doctor on my schedule
It would be nice if I could switch between different providers more easily
It would be nice if each provider could see the others data
It would be nice to get detailed test results
Likelihood to Recommend
This works really well for people that are really busy and on the go. Sometimes attempting to contact the doctor for test results is difficult so this has made it really easy. It is really really nice when you have to see another provider that you have not seen before. They can quickly see when doing an in-office visit what the other doctor sees.
