Soulreaper axe (2)

The soulreaper axe is a two-handed axe that requires 80 Attack and Strength to wield. It is created by combining four untradeable components, obtained as drops from The Leviathan, The Whisperer, Vardorvis, and Duke Sucellus, alongside 2,000 blood runes.

The axe will damage the wielder 8 Hitpoints for every hit they do, and gain a "Soul Stack" in the process (this does not occur if the player has less than 9 Hitpoints). Each Soul Stack gives the player a +6% boost to their Strength level (additive with prayer bonuses), and players can gain up to 5 Soul Stacks; players will stop taking damage from subsequent attacks if they have 5 Soul Stacks. The Soul Stack is added after the damage from the player's attack is calculated. In addition, players will lose a Soul Stack if they have not attacked for 20 ticks (12 seconds), healing the player for 8 Hitpoints per stack lost. Unequipping the soulreaper axe or switching to a different weapon will not cause all Soul Stacks to be lost.

Despite being made from items dropped by prominent Zarosians, the item itself does not grant god protection towards Zarosian NPCs in the God Wars Dungeon.

Special attack[edit | edit source]

Soulreaper axe (35)
Soulreaper axe (36)

The soulreaper axe has a special attack, Behead, which consumes any remaining Soul Stacks (rather than special attack energy). The special attack, for each Soul Stack, increases the player's accuracy and Strength by 6% and heals them by 8 Hitpoints, essentially regaining any lost health gaining Soul Stacks; players are healed regardless of whether the attack was a successful hit or not.

The accuracy roll for Behead functions in the same way as it would for a regular attack. In other words, it is based on the attack bonuses of the player's currently selected style, which is rolled against the corresponding defensive bonuses of an opponent – either slash or crush in this case.[1] This is in contrast to most other special attacks, which roll against the defensive bonuses of an opponent of a specific combat style regardless of the attacking combat style chosen (for example, the dragon dagger's special attack will always roll against the opponent's slash defence, even if the attack style is set to stab).

Since the special attack only consumes Soul Stacks and not energy, it is possible to combo Behead into special attacks from other weapons that use special attack energy for large amounts of burst damage, notably that of the granite maul.

The inspiration behind the soulreaper axe originated from a suggestion on Reddit.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The soulreaper axe was based on a suggestion by a Reddit user named moronijess,[2] and was credited for the suggestion in an update newspost.[3]
  • Despite the poll blog and newspost stating the axe requires full completion of Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire to wield, this is not the case in-game.

Im using it in pvp and there is 0 chance the accuary buff is working on the spec.
