Salem gets very crowded during the Halloween season. The season can start as early as Labor Day. If you are headed here during the fall, keep in mind that is the busiest season of the year for many shops and attractions, If you are visiting on the week or day of Halloween, make arrangements well in advance so you can get a hotel room and see what you want. If you don’t like crowds, consider scheduling a visit for the summer instead when the crowds thin out.

Parking in Salem

Driving is generally very easy in Salem. However, it’s not always easy to find a parking spot. Many side streets have meters. Make sure you have enough coins before you leave your car. Metered parking is generally only good for less than half a day. Some hotels offer free parking you can use as you explore the town on foot.
