FAQs

Did Optum buy The Everett Clinic and The Polyclinic?

No. Optum does not own Optum Care Washington, formerly The Everett Clinic, PLLC or The Polyclinic, PLLC, d/b/a Optum Care Washington. The businesses are remaining physician owned group practices. Our medical groups have the expertise, experience, and dedication to create exceptional, personalized experiences for you, our valued patients and our communities. We’ve been a part of Optum for several years and will continue to be locally led. Optum provides services such as administrative support, business systems solutions, technical infrastructure as well as access to care innovations.

Why are you now branded Optum?

The Optum brand reflects our combined passion to bring you and your health care providers forward-thinking approaches to care utilizing data, insights and technology in partnership with empathy and understanding. By aligning under the Optum name, we are making it easier for you to find care, resources and services throughout Washington. Together, we are a unified team, focused on providing high-quality care when and where you need it.

Will I still get to see my provider?

Yes. Your relationship with your doctor and other medical providers will not change. You will see the same great staff and providers when you come to the clinic locations. Our relationship with you and our commitment to your health remains the same.

Will you still accept my insurance?

Yes, all health insurance plans currently accepted will still be accepted.

Do I need to call my insurance plan to let them know?

No, you do not need to notify your insurance plan. We have done that for you already.

What will be different for me?

Nothing. You can continue to rely on the same doctors and providers at the same locations. You should still visit EverettClinic.com or Polyclinic.com for location information and hours. Over the next few months, you’ll see the Optum name and logo on our clinics and communications.

Will patients gain access to other Optum medical groups/service providers?

In the short term, the access and services we provide our patients will remain the same; we will not be changing any provider networks. In the longer term, we expect there will be opportunity to expand access from The Everett Clinic and The Polyclinic to other products and services in the Optum family; however, no immediate changes are planned.

Will I get an updated health insurance card with the new name?

If your insurance card references The Everett Clinic or The Polyclinic on it, it will continue to be valid this year and accepted by your network of doctors. Some health insurance plans may issue an updated ID card in 2024, and others will not do so until 2025 – timing on this will vary depending on the plan.

Who is Optum?

Optum is an integrated whole-health organization that puts you and your loved ones at the heart of everything we do. At Optum, we’re working to create a healthier world for everyone. Our focus is on what really matters: You.

What changes will I see?

Beginning in April 2024, we will transition to the Optum name and logo in all our clinics and communications. Our name is changing to Optum and our commitment to your health is stronger than ever. Over the next several months, you’ll see building signage change. Our websites and patient communications will also be updated.

What has already changed?

Our caller ID has been updated to Optum. Your MyChart secure patient portal has been updated to Optum as well.
