PARKERSBURG — WVU Medicine Camden Clark held two events Thursday, one aimed at exposing young people to careers in health care and the other showing appreciation for volunteers.
The second annual Bring Child to Work Day for Local Students hosted children and grandchildren of employees enrolled in grades fourth through eighth at the North Tower of the hospital campus.
Through Bring a Child to Work Day, Camden Clark aims to provide age-appropriate exposure of health care careers to participating students with hands-on experiments, safety tours, art projects and more.
In the other Thursday event, the WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center Auxiliary is honoring its volunteers for their service in celebration of National Volunteer Week with the annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to honor hospital volunteers for their service, award four scholarships to local college students majoring in healthcare related fields and donate nearly $75,000 in equipment to enhance patient services.
Part of the donated equipment will include Stryker Power Lift Device for the Camden Clark Ambulance Service, Stryker Prime Swing-Away Wheelchair, three 18 tray capacity dietary carts for patient meal delivery and renovations to the Camden Clark Gift Shop.
