E-News | WVU adjusts entry pay rate to $14 per hour (2024)

WVU is committed to attracting and retaining top talent by paying its faculty and staff a fair wage to remain competitive with current market rates.

Effective June 30, WVU will adjust its entry pay rate for staff employees to $14 per hour. Employees who are currently paid below the new entry pay rate will receive the increase.

Updated wages will be reflected on an employee’s July 26 pay statement.

For an employee to be eligible, they must have an overall rating higher than "Development Needed" in their most recent performance review and must not be on active discipline.

For classified employees, this means the employee must not be on active discipline at a second letter of warning or higher.

The entry rate increase program does not apply to student workers who will continue to be paid at the rate determined by the department or unit in which they are employed.
