Microsoft Teams is a digital hub that brings conversations, content, and apps together in one place. Because it's built on M365, schools benefit from integration with their familiar Office apps and services. Your institution can use Microsoft Teams to create collaborative classrooms, connect in professional learning communities, and communicate with school staff all from a single experience in Microsoft 365 for Education.
If you have an EDU license at the M365 tenant level you must enable Teams from the Microsoft 365 admin center. To do this, go to the Microsoft 365 admin center Settings> Settings > Microsoft Teams. If you don’t see Microsoft Teams in the Services list, turn off Try the new admin center to find Settings> Services and add-ins> Microsoft Teams. This change may take up to 24 hours for all users to have access to Teams.
Select go to the old admin center Settings page to navigate to our non-preview settings page and select Microsoft Teams from within the Settings> Services list.

On the Microsoft Teams settings screen, select the license that you want to configure, Student or Faculty and Staff. Select Faculty and Staff.

Select to turn on Microsoft Teams for each license type in your organization.

Select Save.

Go to Office 365 Admin Center in your browser. Click on Users and select Active Users. Select your email account and click on Licenses and Apps Confirm license assigned, and expand the Apps tab. Check the box for Microsoft Teams for the selected user.
Typically, this message is because either a license is missing from the user account, or the Teams function within the license has been removed. In order to use Teams, an active license is required.
To do this, go to the Microsoft 365 admin center Settings> Settings > Microsoft Teams. To turn it on, go to the bottom of your screen during a meeting.Then, click the “…” to show the menu and select “Manage Permissions.” Toggle on the “Request Control” option. Now, participants can ask for control when you share your screen or an app. You will get a notification.
Start Teams. In Windows, click Start. > Microsoft Teams. On Mac, go to the Applications folder and click Microsoft Teams. On mobile, tap the Teams icon.
Sign in with your Microsoft 365 username and password.
To get to the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to admin.cloud.microsoft or, if you're already signed in, select the app launcher, and choose Admin. On the home page, you can create cards for tasks that you perform frequently.
This could happen if there is a delay or an error in the license assignment process, or if your license has expired or been revoked. To fix this, you need to check your Teams license status in the Microsoft 365 admin center, and make sure that you have a valid and active license for Teams.
Open Microsoft365.com and sign in with your school email and password. From your Office.com homepage, click on the Teams app to open right in your browser. in to see which class teams you're in.
Teams for home or small business requires a personal Microsoft account, while Teams for work or school requires a work or school email address (unless your personal Microsoft account is added to a business's account as guest). Basically you can treat them as two different apps.
Students are eligible for Office 365 Education for free, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, plus additional AI-powered classroom tools. All you need is a valid school email address.
