How do I get FedEx to respond? ›

If you missed your delivery, we'll leave a door tag for you. It has a number that's associated with your package's original tracking number and the steps you can take to locate your package.

Enter your tracking number or reference number. Select Manage Delivery, then Report Missing Package. Confirm that your recipient has checked everywhere the package might have been left by our driver and click Yes. Steps for Filing a Complaint Against FedEx

If you have encountered problems with a FedEx delivery or a FedEx driver, it is advisable to contact customer support at 1-800-463-3339 to file a complaint. Alternatively, you can also initiate a complaint on the company's official website at fedex.com/en-us/customer-support.

In most cases, FedEx will attempt to deliver your package three times before returning it to the shipper. In case a courier is unable to leave your package, the courier will try to call you to check your availability and attempt the delivery.

If you believe that your package was not delivered to you as indicated and you have evidence to support your claim, you may have grounds to file a lawsuit against FedEx for breach of contract or negligence.

If you know a FedEx package is coming that requires a signature, you can usually just leave a note for the delivery driver given permission to leave the package. The note must reference the tracking number, delivery address, and name and signature of the person signing. Your cell phone number is also a good idea.

We'll reattempt to deliver your package the following day. Generally, we make deliveries from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday–Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday for residential deliveries.

How many times will FedEx attempt delivery? ›

If the business is still unattended after three attempts, the shipment will return to the station and be held for further instructions.

If it's a missed delivery, you'll need to track your package. How long will a location hold my package for pickup? FedEx will hold your package for up to 7 days. After that, we'll return it to the shipper.

How long will the claim resolution process take? Most cases will normally be resolved within 1 to 2 weeks after we receive your claim form and additional claim documentation, unless additional time for research is needed. Note: research may take longer depending on the complexity of the matter.
