How to Get Frox Fang in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

You can get Frox Fangs by defeating a miniboss that resembles a large ore-covered reptile and lurks in The Depths found deep below Hyrule, the Frox. Frox won't take much damage from most attacks and can only be defeated by breaking the ore deposits found on its back with a hammer-like weapon. Thankfully, it has a few weaknesses that you can exploit, such as shooting it in the eye with an arrow or shooting a Bomb Flower-attached arrow into its mouth while it tries to suck up Link. Doing so will temporarily stun the Frox, buying you time to climb onto its back and break the Ore Deposits.

Tips for Finding Frox Fang

  • Unlock the Camera and Sensor+ upgrades for your Purah Pad so you can eventually snap a photo of a Frox Fang to add it to your Hyrule Compendium. Once you've done that, you can target Frox Fangs with the Purah Pad sensor, which will ping you when in range of a Frox.
  • When possible, get the Depths Armor Set and upgrade it at a Great Fairy Fountain to improve survival chances in The Depths, where Frox dwell.
  • Be sure to cook and bring Gloom Healing food dishes, so you can recover your maximum hearts that have been lost to any Gloom damage.
  • Bring a fair amount of Bomb Flowers or Keese Eyeballs so you can exploit Frox weaknesses.

Frox Fang Uses

Frox Fang is a handy monster part that you can fuse with weapons for a moderate damage boost and hammer-like properties that are excellent for breaking smashable rocks, Ore Deposits, and monster armor. These Fangs can also be fused to shields to grant your shield parry the ability to damage monsters and break monster armor, as well as Ore Deposits and other sturdy objects. You can also attach these fangs to arrows to pierce and destroy monster armor from a distance.

Other uses for Frox Fang include upgrading the Depths Armor Set to level two, cooking it with critters for slightly longer-lasting elixir recipes, and using them to dye your armor light yellow at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.
