The Town of Many was founded March 21, 1843, when the Louisiana Legislature passed Act 46, which carved up Natchitoches Parish, creating several new parishes, including Sabine. That Act declared that the seat of government for the newly created Sabine Parish be named Many, in honor of Colonel James B. Many, who commanded the garrison at Fort Jesup.
It is the shopping hub of Sabine Parish, offering lots of different businesses, shops and restaurants to explore. The area has some of the best outdoor recreation with Toledo Bend reservoir nearby with fishing, boating, hiking and more.
