Is Pioneer Village worth visiting? ›

The colossal collection of history, Pioneer Village, is located in the small town of Minden. The history the town of Minden holds is astounding and worth every ounce of time a stop takes!

We walked from the town of Salem and it was only about 30-40 minutes. We stopped at Max and Dani's house on the way, which is only five minutes from Pioneer Village. We're happy we made the trip!

Many of the outdoor scenes in the movie were filmed at Salem Common. Located near other Salem landmarks like the Salem Witch Museum and the Hawthorne Hotel, Salem Common is the site of numerous events from the Salem Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival in September to the Salem Witches' Magic Circle on Halloween.

First off, Salem is super walkable. You can absolutely take some form of public transportation into the city and then walk the rest. Most attractions are within a reasonable distance so it shouldn't be a problem on foot, honestly.

Pioneer Park is a 44-acre Historical Theme Park located in the heart of Fairbanks, Alaska - between Airport Way and the Chena River bike path. There is no admission fee to enter Pioneer Park.

20, two guests will get to stay in the Sanderson sisters' cottage from the films. The cottage, re-created by Airbnb in the woods of Salem, Mass., just like the movies, appears to be an exact replica. There's even a boiling cauldron in the center of the living room.

Is there a real Sanderson house in Salem? ›

Yes, you can see the real-life location where the Sanderson Sisters were resurrected—if you dare! This private residence located at 4 Ocean Ave in Salem dates all the way back to 1870. Visitors probably shouldn't go knocking, but you can take a stroll by the house and admire its iconic exterior.

The Sanderson sisters are fictional (as is their cottage), but three sisters were really accused of being witches in 1692 – Sarah Cloyce, Rebecca Nurse and Mary Easty, according to the Salem Witch Museum. Cloyce escaped, but Nurse and Easty were ultimately hanged.

Though some visitors may enjoy a day trip to the city, to savor Salem fully, a visit of 2-3 days is recommended.

Historic Chestnut Street in Salem is considered one of the most beautiful streets in America. The Federal-style Phillips House is open to the public for tours from May through October, and its carriage house is home to a collection of antique vehicles.

There are only four rooms to see but even if you only read half the plaques in the house, it'll take you at least 15 minutes.

It was built back in 1930 to mark the 300th birthday of Massachusetts and it is the first living history museum in America. It's 100% pet friendly and one of my favorite attractions we visited during our trip. Plus, did you know that the Pioneer Village is where they shot some of the scenes for Hocus Pocus?

Pioneer Village is the oldest living history museum in America and is designed to represent Salem in the year 1630. Open June–September, Saturdays and Sundays. Tours at 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30. Pioneer Village is closed for the season and will re-open in June of 2024.

When 498 Wilberforce Road, like the Australiana Pioneer Village site was purchased by Bill McLachlan, founder of the Village, the barn became part of the Australiana Pioneer Village and remained so when 498 Wilberforce Road was sold independently.
