How rare is it to see a spider jockey? ›

Though they appear as one mob, the Spider Jockey is actually two entities; the skeleton and the spider. As such, it is possible to kill the spider only to be continued to be chased by the skeleton, or vise versa. They have only a 1% chance to spawn.

The Mooshroom Jockey is one of the rarest to find, due to Mooshrooms only spawning in Mushroom Biomes. Also, monsters don't spawn there. All the Jockeys that were added in Update 0.14. 0 and the Cave Spider Jockey are exclusive to Minecraft.

There is a 1% chance for a spider to spawn with a skeleton riding it, forming a spider jockey. Spider jockeys spawned in narrow enclosures can cause the skeleton rider to die of suffocation, due to the spider scaling the walls.
