What is a brood mother? ›

Broodmothers are immense female ghouls capable of spawning darkspawn. Broodmothers are created from female captives, who contract the taint by being force-fed on darkspawn tissue, slowly mutating them and giving them cannibalistic urges.

The Brood Mother is a hostile Mini-Boss that can be found in the ⏣ Spider's Den. It can also spawn on stranded islands.

Prior to the Shroom & Doom update, the Broodmother was just an embiggened Wolf Spider with a different blob design in arachnophobia mode. With the Shroom & Doom update, the Broodmother's design was completely overhauled, now resembling a Spiny (Demon) Orb-Weaver.

Rather unnervingly, the Hedge Broodmother boss is resistant to all forms of damage except two - Slashing and Spicy damage, which she's actively weak to. That's not to say other forms of damage won't hurt her, only that she'll take reduced damage from everything else.

Brood development

In each cell of honeycomb, the queen lays an egg, gluing it to the bottom of the cell. The queen tends to lay brood in a circular or oval pattern. At the height of the brood laying season, the queen may lay so many eggs per day, that the brood on a particular frame may be virtually of the same age.

Broodmother's venom cripples enemy units, causing her attacks to slow and giving the affected unit a chance to miss its attacks and extra damage from attacks. Broodmother injects her young into an enemy unit, dealing damage and slowing them for 4 seconds.

broodmother is the easiest boss, seriously, if you are killing black widows, you will have no problem with broodmother. black widows are much tougher than broodmother. wasp queen is easy-medium difficulty.

Broodmother is a fast-tempo, pushing hero capable of dominating a portion of the map through her ability to produce an everlasting supply of summonable units, along with Spin Web which grants her and her brood: health regeneration, increased movement speed, and unobstructed pathing while on her webs.

1 Infected Broodmother

This boss does more than poison damage — she also does Venom damage, which takes more health over time and cannot be protected with Mithradatism. This spider will throw spores, inflict stabbing, use explosives, and whittle away at your health as you fight her.

How to Kill the Hedge Broodmother in Grounded. Once the boss fight has started, pick a favored weapon such as the bow or mint mallet. For the mint mallet, focus on blocking with a shield and getting up close and personal with the creepy crawly.
