Travelling with an OV-chipkaart

With this smart card you can pay for your trip in the Netherlands using all forms of public transport: bus, train, tram or metro. There is no separate OV-chipkaart for tourists. As a tourist you can purchase an anonymous OV-chipkaart or a disposable OV-chipkaart. You can purchase either card at the info counter of a public transport company, at a ticket vending machine at the station, at a newsagent or at a supermarket.
