What is a parcel drop box?

A parcel drop box (or mailbox) is a secure container designed to collect packages and letters, keeping parcels safe from theft and damage. Higher quality models also boast weather-resistant features to protect your letters and deliveries from adverse weather conditions. Parcel boxes are a convenient solution to securely receive parcel deliveries at home or work.

Instead of relying on couriers to safely deliver packages to your safe place or to a neighbour, a parcel box provides ample space for multiple packages, making it easy for you to collect later if you are out at work or away on vacation when the delivery arrives. With various installation options, and two sizes available, these Penn Parcel Boxes are user-friendly and perfectly suited for a modern lifestyle.

Where can you installa parcel box?

Parcel boxes are adaptable to your home or business needs, complementing your building’s aesthetic with a classic, non-intrusive design and variety of colours and sizes. They can be placed outdoors or indoors as standalone units, bolted onto a concrete surface or weighted down with internal weights. They also work well in shared accommodation or lobby areas, maintaining a clutter-free environment.

Additionally, Penn Parcel Boxes can be mounted into fences and gates, or installed through walls thanks to its front and rear access doors, ensuring seamless delivery and collection. Porches, paths, gardens, gateposts and driveways, Penn Parcel Box can work anywhere.

Parcel theft on the rise

With the rise of online shopping, the biggest advantage of a parcel box lies in protecting your packages while giving you private 24/7 access, keeping them concealed from prying eyes and porch pirates. With more than a billion packages lost or stolen in just 12 months, parcel boxes allow you to regain control with their anti-theft design.

A surge in online shopping, along with seasonal rushes, means couriers are under intense pressure to deliver parcels quickly. Professional thieves are known to follow delivery vans, stealing packages minutes after they are dropped off, while opportunistic thieves take advantage of parcels left on doorsteps. Having a parcel box prevents this by keeping your deliveries out of sight and physically unreachable... The Penn Parcel box features a clever two-stage security system that keeps your deliveries safe. The entry hatch is designed to accept and lower items down into the secure cabinet and prevents them from being pulled out, while the robust lock can only be opened with the key provided.

What are the benefitsof a parcel box?

Parcel boxes are the modern-day equivalent to letter boxes and traditional small mailboxes – With letter deliveries falling and parcel volumes (and parcel thefts) increasing year on year, letterboxes are becoming more and more redundant – why are we still designing homes and commercial buildings with standard letter boxes? A parcel box is the perfect solution for all of your package and mail delivery needs, providing a safe and secure space for all of your important deliveries and documents.

Regardless of your busy schedule, you won’t need to ask your neighbours about your package’s whereabouts or make a visit to the local postal office to collect your missed delivery as it will be secure and stored in the parcel box.

The Penn Parcel Box is made from tough, powder-coated steel, making it a year-round and long-lasting answer to home or work deliveries.
