How do you unlock more anomaly investigations in Sunbreak? ›

To unlock Anomaly Investigations, you'll first need to beat the main story of Sunbreak. Then, reach MR10 to unlock Afflicted Monsters and Anomaly Quests. Speaking to Bahari after this will unlock Qurious Crafting and Anomaly Investigations, as well as the Research Request feature.

Anomaly Investigations have a set level, with the maximum level being the same as your Anomaly Research Level. By raising your Research Level, you can take on more difficult quests and gain better rewards. As your level increases, you'll unlock various content for Qurious Crafting among other things.

Complete these quests to earn points required to level up the Anomaly Research Lab, and special materials that allow for new upgrades to your weapons and armor. As a new feature, you can now also lower the level of the quests you possess.

To unlock all levels of Anomaly Quests to access all Afflicted Materials, you will need to increase your Master Rank up to Master Rank 50 and defeat Furious Rajang. For example, you will only find monsters that drop Afflicted Pelt and Afflicted Bone in 1-Star Anomaly Quests.

The only monsters that do not have Afflicted States or Anomaly Quests are Small Monsters, Elder Dragons, Lucent Nargacuga, Violet Mizutsune, and Apex Monsters. However, Apex Monsters, and other non-Afflicted Monsters can appear alongside Afflicted Monsters as quest targets in high-level Anomaly Investigations.

The Investigation Coins obtained from Anomaly Investigations can be exchanged for useful items at the Anomaly Research Lab. More items will be added to the lineup as you hunt specific monsters. You'll even find Qurious Crafting materials among them, so be sure to check it out once you have some Investigation Coins!

Unlock A1-A4★ Quests by Completing the MR Cap Urgent Quests

After completing the Final Boss of Sunbreak, the Master Rank cap will be unlocked up to MR10. Upon reaching MR10, you'll encounter an Urgent Quest with an Afflicted Arzuros. Clearing this Quest will unlock the Anomaly Quests lists.

Previously, these materials were only used to complete Rarity 10 weapon upgrades and craft certain decorations. Now, you can also use those materials for weapon augments. After completing your first Anomaly Investigation, speak to the smithy in Elgado to unlock Qurious Crafting.

You need to reach certain AR thresholds to unlock the next tier of regular Anomaly Quests. But the corresponding monsters can appear in Investigations well before that threshold. For example, 7* Anomaly Quests don't unlock until rank 181, but I found all the 7*s in Investigations in the 120s and 130s.

Sunbreak Monster List in Monster Hunter Rise. In order to access the content for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, you'll need to be Hunter Rank 7 and have completed the Seven Star Urgent Quest: Serpent Goddess of Thunder that's part of the Gathering Hub Key Quests.

For weapons with multiple Afflicted Material requirements, the ones from higher ranked quests such as Afflicted Claws and Fangs need to be obtained first before the weapon will appear.
