Racial Relations[]
Humans[]
- "They might trespass on our land, but how are they to know? It is not like we have reminded this generation."
- ―Queen Elise of Silelloaarn to her court when human woodsmen entered their forest.
The wood elves andhumans have had a long history of displeasing each other over territory; the humans want the forested areas for their industry, where the elves want to keep nature protected. While there have been a few wars in the past, there are very few conflicts in the modern era, due to the isolationist attitude the wood elves have adopted, and that they have slowly come to understand that the humans forget quickly due to their short lives.
When minor skirmishes take place, the wood elves rarely react, instead sending an ambassador to the human settlement to apologise if any human casualties were reported. These ambassadors are often the same elf for centuries until the role is passed down.
Dwarves[]
- "Do not forget they helped us during the Feywild invasion! Before you let your emotions rule your speech, remember who your allies are!"
- ―Queen Elise berating a young courtier who suggested refusing aid to the dwarves of Khûndil when it fell.
The wood elves and the dwarves have a long history of ignoring one another, with a few spats here and there. Until fairly recently (in elf and dwarf terms being the last few centuries), the two might have occassional territory dispute, but when beasts of the Feywild hit both the elves and the dwarves, the two races formed an alliance. Since then, there have been no arguments, though there is not much communication at all. Both races has long memories.
Elves[]
- "And so it must come to pass. Our cousins are simply too arrogant to accept our aid. They will dismiss us out of ignorance for the last time."
- ―Queen Elise to her generals before the battle of five paths
Dark Elves[]
The dark elves never got along with the wood elves, associating them with the high elves. Because of this association, the wood elves initially disliked the dark elves as well, but the wood elves believe that the dark elves can be redeemed, dispite their past.
High Elves[]
The high elves and the wood elves are often seen as the best of friends, but in reality, neither regard each other highly. The wood elves have always been judged by the high elves, always offering unwelcome advice. The wood elves have always seen the high elves as arrogantly meddling, getting involved with situations and people better left alone. When the high elves shunned the wood elves' for supporting them, the wood elves turned on the high elves, finally fed up of their mistreatment.
White Elves[]
Similarly to the dark elves, the wood elves believe that the white elves are redeemable, they just need to be given a chance. When dealing with the white elves, the wood elves often take a peaceful and welcoming approach, wanting to give them this chance.
Tieflings[]
- "Have you considered that your heritage is not your fault? That you are shunned because of a mistake your ancestors made? Well, you do not have to fear being shunned by me. Come, stand up."
- ―Wood elf captain after being ambushed by a young tiefling bandit in the forest.
Wood elves view tieflings to be an unfortunate victim of circ*mstance. They were born the way they were, they didn't actively seek to turn themselves that way. As such, many tieflings are treated as any other human, though there are many who are still wary, knowing that a devil's power can corrupt easily.
